We welcome adult men (18+) who are ready to continue their journey of recovery in a supportive, structured environment. To be considered for residency, applicants should:
• Be 18 years of age or older with a history of substance use disorder.
• Have successfully completed a minimum of 30 days at a treatment program at the time of application.
• Have completed a recognized addiction treatment program (ideally transitioning directly from treatment into the home).
• Be actively participating in a 12-step-based recovery community such as AA, NA, CA, or OPA.
• While referrals from treatment professionals (counselors, case workers, etc.) are encouraged, individuals may also apply directly.
• Applications can be requested by email at hopeinstrathcona@outlook.com, or by calling 587-333-2478, or arranging to visit us in person.
• Once we’ve received your application, we may schedule an in-person interview to get to know you better and assess whether our program is a good fit for your needs.
• All applicants will be placed on a waitlist once their application is submitted.
We commend you for taking this important step toward long-term recovery. You don’t have to walk this path alone—Hope is here to walk it with you!
Residents have ongoing access to our dedicated Manager of Operations and support staff, and the brotherhood of residents, ensuring guidance and assistance are always available as you navigate your recovery journey.
Central to our approach is regular participation in 12-step meetings that align with your specific addiction—whether it’s AA, NA, CA, CMA, or others. This connection to the 12-step fellowship is the foundation of our community and key to long-term success.
At Hope in Strathcona, we offer a supportive, structured environment designed to foster lasting recovery and personal growth, while encouraging autonomy and accountability. Our core programming includes in-house group sessions held every Wednesday and Thursday, led by an Addictions and Community Services Worker. These meetings provide a safe space to share experiences, build community, and develop skills essential to sustained sobriety.
We also encourage residents to explore additional support through community mental health services, professional addiction counseling, and alternative recovery groups such as Smart Recovery, recognizing that a multifaceted approach strengthens resilience and healing.
We expect all residents to commit to active engagement in these programs, respect house guidelines, and contribute positively to the communal living environment. Together, we create a space where recovery is possible, support is genuine, and transformation is real!
We thank you for letting us be a part of your recovery!
